This simple Berry Crisp with Frozen Fruit is a staple dessert in my house. I love to throw together some sort of crisp for when we have guests over. Not only is crisp probably one of the easiest desserts and tastiest, but it’s super easy to adapt if you have any allergies among your guests. In Vancouver, BC we clearly don’t have fresh berries all year long. That’s why making a crisp from frozen berries is such a game changer. We always have loads of frozen berries in our freezer, so this berry crisp with frozen fruit is easy to assemble. Looking for a cake instead? How to Make this Easy Berry Crisp using Frozen Fruit!
Preheat the oven to 375° and lightly grease a 9″ pie plate or casserole dish with butter.
In a medium bowl, combine the butter, oats, flour, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon. Mix it all together until it’s chunky and it all holds together. Set aside.
In a large bowl, toss the frozen berries with the brown sugar, cornstarch , salt and cinnamon. Pour the berries into the pie plate and spears them out evenly. They will be quite high, but they will bake down.
Sprinkle the crumble all over the top of the berries. Place in the oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the berry crisp is bubbling and the topping is browned. Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 15 minutes before you dive in. Serve with fresh whipped cream or ice cream!
