Sprinkle Cookie Ingredients
- Salted Butter – This recipe calls for melted butter. If you don’t have salted butter, that’s fine, use unsalted.
- Sugar – White sugar gives these cookies the texture and light colour.
- Egg – One large egg is used in this cookie recipe.
- Vanilla – Pure vanilla extract gives these cookies a lovely flavour.
- Baking Soda – This is used as the evening agent in this recipe.
- Salt – Use regular sea salt here.
- Flour – This recipe uses either all purpose gluten free flour or regular all purpose flour.
- Sprinkles – Use fun coloured sprinkles here. If making these cookies gluten free, check for gluten in the sprinkles.

How to make these Sprinkle Sugar Cookies!
- Start with melting the butter. Let it cool for 10 minutes while preparing the rest of the ingredients.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt.
- Pour the sugar into the butter and mix until well combined. Add the vanilla and egg to the wet ingredients.
- Mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until well combined.
- Fold in the sprinkles, be careful not to over mix.
- Chill the cookie dough for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375° and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop out the cookie dough into 1.5 tbsp sized balls. Place about 2″ apart on a cookie sheet. Slightly flatten each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, remove from the oven and let cool for two minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and let them cool completely.


Funfetti Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1.5 cups all purpose flour or gluten free all purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup sprinkles
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the butter and sugar until well combined. Add in the egg and vanilla and mix well.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well. Now fold in the sprinkles.
- Chill the cookie dough for 20-30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375° and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop the cookie dough into balls of about 1.5 tbsp worht of dough. Place the dough balls 2" apart on a baking sheet. With your hand, flatten the balls slightly.
- Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for two minutes and then remove from the pan and transfer to a wire rack to continue cooling.
Notes
These cookies freeze well.
- If making gluten-free, make sure the sprinkles are also gluten-free.
