How to make flaky biscuits?
These baking powder biscuits are quick to make!
Preheat the oven to 425° and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt and herbs.
Now cut in the butter until the mixture resembles large crumbs. It doesn’t have to be perfect!
Add in the milk and mix the batter together. Knead a couple of times until all of the ingredients are combined. Don’t over mix because we want the butter to still be cold.
Lightly flour the counter, and roll out the dough, or just use your hands. Again, we aren’t going for perfect here. The dough should be about a half inch thick.
Use a biscuits cutter to cut out the biscuits, however if you want square biscuits, just cut the dough into 9 even squares.
Place the biscuits on the baking tray with about 1-2″ between them and then lightly brush with milk to help them brown.
Optional – Sprinkle a little bit of salt on top!
Baking in the oven for 12-15 minutes, the tops should be golden brown.
Remove from the oven and enjoy immediately.
